Tramonti mozzafiato, stradine di campagna, boschi, radure, filari di cipressi….sono infinitamente più emozionanti se vissuti in sella a un cavallo. Immerso nello splendido panorama della Maremma, il centro ippico Antica Caletra è l’unico in grado di offrirvi indimenticabili escursioni a cavallo.

Dal 7 Aprile al 14 Aprile al Castello di Marsiliana prima mostra del fotografo Bruno Lelli, nato e vissuto nelle terre di Maremma a due passi dall’antico Castello. Appassionato delle sue genti e delle loro gesta che solo in questa terra cosi frugale, preziosa e cara potevano esistere.

Niki de Sain Phalle’s Tarot Garden

Niki de Saint Phalle è nata a Parigi nel 1930, da padre francese e madre americana e la doppia nazionalità ha contribuito a farne una cittadina del mondo, poliglotta e legata ad amicizie internazionali, a luoghi lontani dove ha lavorato e vissuto, ormai da trent’anni realizzando opere guidate dalla fantasiosa vivacità artistica che la distingue.
Il Giardino dei Tarocchi è nato grazie alla solidarietà di un’amica, Marella Caracciolo Agnelli, che ha creduto nel grandioso progetto ed è stata interlocutrice verso i propri fratelli, Nicola e Carlo, proprietari dell’appezzamento di macchia mediterranea ove Niki ha avuto piena libertà di inventare il suo mondo fantastico. La scultrice con un gruppo di operai specializzati vi lavora dal 1980 e il giardino sta per essere aperto come spazio museale stabile sostenuto da una Fondazione privata dedicata a Niki de Saint Phalle.
La realizzazione dell’opera è stata una coraggiosa avventura, interamente autofinanziata.
Si deve comunque ricordare che l’ingresso al Giardino dei Tarocchi sarà a fasce orarie e a gruppi poiché lo speciale luogo non può accogliere un numero troppo elevato di persone. Non sono in oltre, per desiderio dell’artista, previste visite guidate all’interno del Giardino con lo scopo di salvaguardare l’aspetto esoterico e la libertà di movimento che i Tarocchi richiedono.

GNOCCHI WITH PESTO D’ORTICA (Gnocchi with stinging Nettle pesto)

* 150g Fresh, boiled nettle leaves (to make Pesto d’ortica)
* 600g Potatoes
* 4 Sun-dried tomatoes
* 50g pistachio nuts
* 2 tablespoons olive oil
* 200g Wholemeal flour
* 1 teaspoon of sea salt.

Boil potatoes, cut into pieces and pass them through a vegetable filter. Paste in the flour until well mixed, then separate the mixture into thumb-size lumps, or “gnocchi”, cover them in sieved flour and leave them to sit for an hour or so.

In the meantime blend the tomatoes with the cooked nettle leaves, pistachio’s and oil until creamy.

Drop the gnocchi into boiling, salted water and when they rise to the surface they are cooked.

Add the mixture to the gnocchi, decorate with a few pistachio nuts and enjoy with any red wine that you can find in the house…

The next time you are stung by this terror in the garden remember that revenge can be sweet, and can be sought by transforming it into a number of delicious and nutritious dishes – a just revenge I feel…!

Dal 26 al 30 ottobre 2006 a Torino, si svolgerà la sesta edizione del Salone del Gusto, con l’obiettivo di riunire e promuovere le eccellenze del comparto enogastronomico mondiale.
Tra i vini selezionati presso l’enoteca potrete degustare anche quelli di Fattoria Le Corti e Tenuta Marsiliana.
I nostri vini saranno presenti anche al Laboratorio del Gusto “Pecorini Eccellenti” perfetto contraltare al meglio della produzione casearia da latte crudo ovino della nostra penisola con la partecipazione speciale del famoso Queijo de Serpa, dal Portogallo.

Il Giardino di Daniel Spoerri

At the beginning of the Nineties the Swiss Artist Daniel Spoerri started to establish a sculpture garden in the South of Tuscany, 80 km south from Siena: “Il Giardino di Daniel Spoerri”. It has been opened for the public in 1997 and can hence be visited from Easter until October. By now there are 79 installations by about 40 artists in an area of about 16 ha. Since 1997 “Il Giardino di Daniel Spoerri” is an officially accepted foundation.
The name „Il Giardino“ derives from its geographical position. On old maps the place is called “Il Paradiso”. Thus it is a “Garden of Eden”. Regarding the structure of the landscape it is not as poor as the hilly area around Siena with its isolated cypresses. There slopes of the Monte Amiata – the highest mountain of Tuscany – is densely wooded. The landscape is very different from the typical Tuscan views that we usually see in calendar pictures. There is snow in winter. The Monte Amiata is even known as a skiing area. In summer of course, especially in August, it is very hot and dry.

SOVANA

While staying at tenuta di marsiliana’s propreties, cut out a moment to visit the delightfull village of Sovana.
Once you have seen Sovana, you certainly won’t regret having decided to visit it.
The Aldobrandesca Fortress stands at the entrance to the village, although this is just the first of the pleasant surprises that await you, starting from the absence of asphalt,
replaced by fired Tuscan bricks.
The Piazza del Pretorio awaits you with the Palazzetto del Archivio in the background. It
has such an original shape that it makes you wonder whether the architect was a child. On the left, in the same square, you will find the Church of S. Maria. Its stunning interior
dates back to the 13th century.
It is best to visit this village on foot. When you reach what could be defined as the end of
the village itself, you will find the Duomo di S. Pietro, which is worth visiting both
inside and out.
